When you graduate from medical school in Canada, you are required to write the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination MCCQE. There are two parts to the exam (which is often being referred to as ‘LMCC’). Part I is a very long multiple-choice exam. Part II is an OSCE-type exam. One has to pass both parts in order to be licensed.

The Part I exam cover a wide range of topics. It is quite similar to the USMLE  (the US equivalent of MCCQE) II CK but the questions come with stems that are shorter and more straightforward. The questions are quite random, and sometimes you will be asked about some “silly “details. Occasionally you will come across questions that require memorization of some hard facts and tricky details in these areas: Internal Medicine; Surgery; Pediatrics; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Psychiatry; and CLEO.

We are coming up with study products for this exam, with the goal of assessing your readiness for the silly details that can get you tripped up in the exam. Stay tuned.
