CERTIFIED PROPERTY MANAGER (CPM) is a designation awarded to those outstanding professionals in the real estate management field. To earn this IREM designation, you need to pass the CPM Certification exam, which covers several competency areas, including financial operations and asset management, human resource management, legal and risk management, maintenance and operations, and marketing and leasing.
I like to classify the exam knowledge domains into two different levels: those that are more business oriented and those that are relatively more technical (those that involve a lot of legal requirements & restrictions). For the former, most text books on property management would suffice. This ExamFOCUS notes focuses on those property management topics that require great deal of attention on regulatory requirements, legal restrictions and contractual obligations. To succeed in the CPM exam, you need to get yourself truly familiar with the most important information by going through sufficiently focused revision.
