According to the ISC2, as an information assurance professional the candidate needs to define the architecture, design, management and/or controls that assure the security of business environments. It is a credential that demonstrates a globally recognized standard of competence which covers critical topics in security today. There is a revision to the BOK knowledge domains which becomes effective in January 2012. You need to know the basics of new IT technologies but you also need to know the older technologies since many old stuff are still at work in the modern business world. Also, when we develop our material we do not classify topics the BOK way. In fact, we follow our own flow of instructions which we think is more logical for the overall learning process. Don’t worry, it does not hurt to do so, as long as you truly comprehend the material.
