However, to speed up the evaluation copies order process we will usually review and approve your request within 24 hours upon receiving it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About group discount<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For university bookstore we can provide 40% off list price if you order 6\u00a0or more copies of the same book.\u00a0\u00a0Order of smaller quantity will receive 30% off.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About licensing\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you want us to grant you a license for classroom use (ie. you want to make copies yourself) , please be aware that the cost would depend primarily on class size, and that the minimum charge per book per annum is USD$1000. The license is non-transferrable and distribution is strictly limited to internal students only.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you want us to grant you a license on a title without modifying its content (in other words, you want a license of the entire book in its original form for enriching your product offering or bundling), these are the terms that MUST BE included in your proposal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To avoid potential IP conflicts, you must clearly and explicitly mention\u00a0that we granted you the license, that we retain all rights to the contents.<\/li>\n<li>The content is always provided \u201cas is\u201d without representation, warranty or condition of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to the implied representations, warranties or conditions of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not represent or warrant that the content will meet your requirements or that it will be error free. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the content is with you. Should the content prove inaccurate or defective, you assume the entire risk and cost of all necessary corrections.<\/li>\n<li>In any event you will have to agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, liability, losses, costs and expenses arising out of your use of the content.<\/li>\n<li>Upon your acceptance of the licensing contract and our receipt of payment from you, we will grant to you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable worldwide license to use the content for the permitted uses (as outlined in your proposal). The use contemplated by you must be a permitted use. All other rights in and to the content, including, without limitation, all copyright and other intellectual property rights relating to the content, are always retained by us.<\/li>\n<li>These are always considered as prohibited uses:<br \/>\n&#8211; sub-licensing, re-selling, renting, lending, assigning, gifting or otherwise transferring the rights granted under this contract to another party;<br \/>\n&#8211; incorporating\u00a0the content in any product of another party;<br \/>\n&#8211; modifying the content for purpose other than correcting minor errors;<br \/>\n&#8211; making the content FREELY AVAILABLE on the internet or\u00a0incorporating the content in any FREE web page or product;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if you want us to grant you a license on a title and you plan to modify or rewrite\/repackage the content (in other words, you want a license to do whatever you like with the content), these are the terms that MUST BE included in your proposal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To avoid potential IP conflicts, you must clearly and explicitly mention in your product that we granted you the license, that we retain all rights to the original contents, and that we are not responsible for the modifications you make.<\/li>\n<li>Since we\u00a0have no way to\u00a0control how you modify the content, we cannot be held responsible for anything.\u00a0The original content\u00a0will always be provided \u201cas is\u201d without representation, warranty or condition of any kind, either express or implied.\u00a0You will ALWAYS have to assume ALL risks and costs.<\/li>\n<li>In any event you will have to agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, liability, losses, costs and expenses arising out of your use of the content.<\/li>\n<li>Upon your acceptance of the licensing contract and our receipt of payment from you, we will grant you a license to use the content provided that you do NOT:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211; sub-license, re-sell, rent, lend, assign, gift or otherwise transfer the rights granted under this contract to another party;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; incorporate the content in any product of another party;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; make the content FREELY AVAILABLE on the internet or\u00a0incorporate the content in any FREE web page or\u00a0product;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To keep things simple, we always prefer a flat fee based licensing arrangement.
